MARK WARWICK
Opening Reception: Saturday September 18th, 6-8PM
Open from September 18th - October 7, 2021
Born in Liverpool, Warwick studied sculpture at Wolverhampton Polytechnic and later at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred, NY, where he completed his MFA. He has been living and working in the US for 25 years, makes frequent trips to the UK, and he teaches in France each summer. Mark’s work is predominately abstract steel sculpture, which he exhibits internationally. Mark is fascinated with the idea of a Sense of Place, and the relationship between identity and place. He believes that we are all impacted by our surroundings, and in turn leave our mark on the places we inhabit.
"I was attracted to the US by the architecture which was less encumbered - the firm straight edges that predominate American cityscapes contrast sharply with the curvilinear decorativeness of Europe."
